We all know the drill. We’re driving home from school. We ask our mom for McDonald’s...she asks us if we have McDonald’s money. It’s almost a rite of passage. Now that I am an adult, I find that I quite often have McDonald’s money...but maybe not the money to get what I want from the make-up aisle. I know you feel me. So I wanted to share some of my favorite tips to getting the best makeup and beauty brands for way less or to find alternatives you didn’t even realize you’d love so much.
1. Amazon Filters
No this is not a new look on Instagram. This is something I discovered when I did a gift exchange and the cap was 10 dollars. You pick whatever you’re interested in, let’s say lipstick. On the left hand side of the page choose average customer reviews: 4 stars and up, then price under 25 dollars. You’ll be surprised what amazing brands you’ll find that you’ve never even heard of. I personally discovered an amazing 12 piece lip liner set that cost only $9.98.
2. Ebay
I know we all understand the bidding process on Ebay but you can actually find some really high end items for Walmart prices on this site and you don’t have to bid at all. Just find your price range and your item. However, make sure your seller has really good reviews, especially the lower the price. Also, sometimes you have to be prepared to wait for that shipping. So if you’re in a rush this might not be the choice for you. I found a BB Creme priced at 30 dollars in Target for $9.00 plus shipping on Ebay.
3. Shop Small
Now, I know it may seem like small businesses have higher prices and sometimes they do. However, you also want to keep in mind the quality of the product you’re looking for. I recently started using a body whip that may seem more costly than something I could pick up in a chain drug store, however the difference in pricing is minimal and it really does wonders for my skin because the producer made it specifically for my type of skin. It wasn’t generic, it was made with love and that has made all the difference.
I know finding what you really want can be costly and time consuming. I hoped this helped!
