Not Getting All You Want from Your Moisturizing Routine? Try These Tips.

Dry skin. We all get it and can agree, it’s just not cute. In fact, for some of us it can be downright irritating. While the problem may be slightly due to genetics and a change in the weather there could be quite a few steps we’re missing out on when it comes to keeping our skin hydrated and soothed. Here are some tips to help

  1. Exfoliate- This is an easy one! While you don’t want to over do it, using a soft scrub brush and a gentle exfoliant on your damp body will help you to remove all the days troubles…and flaky skin. You’ll come finish your rub down feeling polished and soft.
  2. Say Yes to the Shower but No the Water- We all love a good shower however, even though the water is cleansing to us it is also drying. So, while we may feel inclined to spend several minutes under the jets you’ll do better if you cleanse yourself then step out and relax in the steam that the water provides. The steam softens skin gently without drying and opens pores allowing for proper moisturizing. If you really want to have a party, stop up the tub and add some essential oils to the water and let the vapors rise. You’ll come out feeling relaxed and refreshed.
  3. Use Aloe Gel- Aloe Gel is an amazing product that soothes and moisturizes at the same time. It contains antioxidants, enzymes, Vitamins A and C, and it is highly anti-inflammatory. It can help treat acne, dry skin and lighten dark spots. This product is especially great for anyone with sensitive skin.  As always ingredients matter so make sure that any Aloe Gel you use is labeled at least 95% Aloe.
  4. Lock in The Moisture-  We all love a good lotion or body butter, but if you’re not locking in that moisture then it’s really all for nothing. Especially in the winter months you really want to supplement your favorite lotions and butters by layering. First apply your Aloe, let it dry. Then add your butter or lotion. After a few moments you want to add a dry oil. The oil will act as sealant leaving you moisturized for the entire day!

We hope this helped! You can check out our whole line of amazing products that will keep you looking and feeling your best all year long!
